Directions to Cobram depots

Directions from Strathmerton

Entering Cobram on the Murray Valley Highway (B400) from Strathmerton, enter the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Murray Valley Highway. 100 metres along turn left onto Colgan Street. Depot is 120 metres on right hand side.

Directions from Cobram Town Centre

Head south-west on Punt Road towards Station Street for 130 metres. At the roundabout, turn left onto Colgan Street. Depot is 200 metres along on the left hand side.

Directions from Barooga

Drive south-west on Nangunia Street towards Barooga-Cobram Road, crossing bridge into Victoria along  Broadway Street.  After 700 metres turn left onto Dillon Street and then right onto Colgan Street. The depot is 200 metres along on the left hand side.

What can you return as part of the 10c refund scheme?

When depositing 10 cent refund containers remember, eligible containers must:

  • Be clean
  • Free of waste
  • Empty of fluids
  • Lids on
  • No crushed cans
  • No broken glass
  • No metal caps
  • No straws in Tetra Paks
  • No crushed plastic bottles

FOOTT CDS Vic Depots operate in Shepparton, Benalla, Yarrawonga and Cobram.

Our depots have friendly staff on hand to guide you. Counting machines efficiently process small and large numbers of cans and bottles, making it quick and easy to get your refund.

CDS Vic eligible drink containers are sized between 150ml and 3 litres, and are smaller portable containers, such as glass or plastic bottles, aluminium drink cans, containers and juice containers. All eligible containers will display a label marked ‘10c’.

Container Deposit Scheme FAQs

Can I request a pickup for the Container Deposit Scheme?

No. FOOTT does not provide CDS Vic pickups. We do collect many other materials such as cardboard, food waste and organics, construction, industrial and demolition waste, liquid waste and bulk off-spec and out-of-date material.

Can I return cans and bottles?

Yes. Any cans, bottles or cartons that display the 10c refund mark that are eligible to be returned in Victoria, can be returned at a FOOTT depot.

How does FOOTT participate in CDS Vic?

FOOTT operates four CDS Vic depots in Shepparton, Benalla, Cobram and Yarrawonga. Our sites have automated counting machines and a great team who are ready to help. FOOTT also process and transport returned containers for one third of the state on behalf of the state.

How long does it take to receive a refund through the CDS Vic North App?

Refunds processed through the CDS Vic North App typically take 24 to 72 hours after your eligible containers are returned and counted. The funds are transferred directly to your nominated bank account. 

What happens to containers after they’re returned?

FOOTT collects, sorts, and prepares eligible containers for delivery to accredited recycling facilities. 

Can I receive my refund in my bank account?

Yes. By registering on the CDS Vic North App, you can:

  • Scan containers to check eligibility
  • Link your bank account
  • Receive digital refunds directly to your account
  • Choose to donate your refund to a cause of your choice

Can I donate my container refund to a charity or community group?

Yes. Through the CDS Vic North App, you can choose a registered school, sports club, or local charity to receive your refund.

What types of drink containers are eligible for the 10-cent refund?

Eligible containers include:

  • Aluminium drink cans
  • Glass bottles
  • PET and HDPE plastic bottles
  • Juice cartons and flavoured milk cartons

All eligible containers must display the 10c refund marking. You can check eligibility using the CDS Vic North App.
