On the Job with Kobe:

This month, FOOTT hosted Kobe for work experience and introduced him to the day to day of working in the waste industry.

Kobe has got involved in multiple aspects of the business including working in our head office, Shepparton CDS Vic FOOTT Depot, and even spending time on the road in our trucks.

“It’s been good. Everyone’s been really nice,” Kobe said.

While he’s enjoyed all parts of the business, he’s particularly enjoyed working at our CDS Vic Depot where he’s helped serve customers.

“Working at the (CDS Vic) depot has probably been my favourite. I didn’t realise how many cans come through,” he said.

“The team here have been great to work with.”

FOOTT People and Culture Manager Caitlin Baker, said giving young people like Kobe the opportunity to explore career paths is an important part of the company’s stance on supporting the next generation.

“We see value in opening our doors to students who want to experience what a workplace such as FOOTT is like,” Caitlin said.

“Work experience placements are a great way for students see the different roles and industries before making decisions about their future.”

FOOTT provides a diverse range of roles including commercial drivers, CDS Vic depot-based customer service roles, HR, finance, IT, customer service and marketing.

“We offer many entry-level roles that include on-the-job training, and we’re always looking for motivated people who want to learn and contribute,” Caitlin said.

“We are proud of the culture we’ve built and we’re passionate about promoting that you don’t need to leave the Goulburn Valley to build a big career.

“There is so much on offer in regional Victoria.”
